한화에어로스페이스 대전사업장에서 발생한 폭발 사고로 다수의 사상자가 나온 가운데, 김승연 한화그룹 회장이 그룹 차원의 총력 대응을 지시했다.

이어 “유명을 달리한 직원들에게 최선의 예우를 다하고, 유가족 지원과 부상자 치료 등 사고 수습을 신속하고 정성껏 진행하라”고 당부했다. 또 그룹의 모든 역량을 동원해 대응할 것을 주문하며 특별 대응 태스크포스(TF) 구성을 지시했다.

이에 따라 한화그룹은 여승주 부회장을 팀장으로 하는 특별 대응 TF를 꾸리고 사고 수습과 지원 업무 전반을 맡기기로 했다. 그룹은 사고 원인 조사와 재발 방지 대책 마련에도 착수했다.

한화그룹과 한화에어로는 이날 공동 입장문을 통해 사과의 뜻도 밝혔다. 회사 측은 “대전사업장 사고로 희생된 직원들과 유가족, 부상자, 지역 주민과 국민 여러분께 머리 숙여 사죄드린다”며 “희생자들에게 깊은 애도를 표하며 유가족께 진심 어린 위로를 전한다”고 밝혔다.

손재일 한화에어로 대표이사 역시 현장에 대책본부를 마련하고 사고 대응에 나섰다. 손 대표는 “대표이사로서 무거운 책임을 통감한다”며 “회사는 유가족 지원과 부상자 치료 및 회복에 끝까지 책임을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
